GAA President Christy Cooney has offered his support for the 2013 bid.
Speaking at the official launch of Feile na nOg Dhoire 2010, Christy (pictured second from right) told the audience the Derry-Londonderry bid to be named UK City of Culture 2013 has the full support of the GAA.
He said: “I know that the city is currently bidding to become City of Culture 2013. I am confident that the you will be successful in this process and it would undoubtedly create fantastic opportunities for all the local young people who will be taking part in this year’s Feile na nOg.
“We as an association will play our part in making sure that the city puts on a tremendous display of Irish Culture in 2013. I wish you well in your endeavours”.

Féile Peile na nÓg, sponsored by Coca-Cola Bottlers (Ire) Ltd, is a national festival of football for boys and girls under 14 years of age.
