Brian has been writing for theatre for over 20 years. His first professional production was The Butterfly of Killybegs, produced by Belfast’s Lyric Theatre.

His best known play, Maire-A Woman of Derry, is the most successful play in the history of local theatre, and has played in Ireland, England, Canada and America to a combined audience of 40,000. Brian’s new play, Derry Through Those Laughter and Tears Years takes to stage in the Millennium Forum this October.

Another new play, Mengele – Angel of death of Auschwitz is due a production in 2014. In November of this year, Brian’s Maire A Woman of Derry will play its final performance ever in the Millennium Forum, with a professional camera team recording the event for subsequent release on DVD. Brian has also worked for BBC Northern Ireland doing feature film script development. He also runs occasional ‘writing for theatre’ master classes.
