European Heritage Open Days

On the second weekend of September many historic buildings in the city and region, normally closed, will open, for free, to visitors and locals. Events, tours and free information will help to link, explain and celebrate the buildings and their importance to our culture. The event is part of a wider celebration of Northern Ireland’s Built Heritage organised every year by the Northern Ireland Environment Agency, with the help of many volunteers. It will be concentrating on the city in 2013.

To find out more about the event go to www.ni-environment.gov.uk. If you would like to volunteer or contribute to the event through organising a walk or opening a historic building then call NIEA on 028 9054 3022 or e-mail ehd@doeni.gov.uk.
