Following on from the success of the Mayor’s Tea Dance in The Venue in January, why not come along to one of the upcoming tea dances that are scheduled to take place across a number of venues from March-May?
This is your chance to glam up, get your dancing shoes on and show off your moves to the sounds of the 1920s, 30s, 40s and 50s.
This is a family event where cups of tea and tray bakes are the refreshments of choice. Folks of all ages are welcome to come along and sample the aural delights of the live bands and DJs. The Mayor’s Tea Dance is a monthly initiative, taking place in a different community on the first Wednesday of each month from February – December 2013.
On Friday, 15 March, as part of the city’s St Patrick’s Day celebrations, a Tea Dance has been organised to take place at the Pilots Row Community Centre. While on Wednesday 10 April the event will be held at the Newbuildings Community Centre and on Wednesday 1 May at the Bishop’s Field Sports Hall, in Creggan, with both tea dances taking place between 2pm and 4pm.
