A spectacular one-off event and spin-off of the internationally renowned Transatlantic Sessions staged annually as part of Celtic Connections, this event will be a celebration of the strong traditional musical connections between Ireland, Scotland and North America.
The line-up, under the musical direction of dobro maestro Jerry Douglas (Alison Krauss’ Union Station), boasts an incredible calibre of musicians, including Dan Tyminski (O Brother Where Art Thou?) and Grammy award winner Tim O’Brien will duet with one of Ireland’s foremost traditional musicians, guitarist Arty McGlynn.Joining this stellar line up will be the peerless voice of Scottish singer-songwriter Eddi Reader and Karen Matheson. They will share the stage with one of Ireland’s finest contemporary singer-songwriters, Declan O’Rourke.
Ultra-classy accompaniment and awesome instrumentals will be supplied by a similarly crème-de-la-crème array of Celtic talent, including Manchester born master of Uilleann pipes, flute and whistle, Michael McGoldrick, John McCusker, Jarlath Henderson, Donald Shaw, John Doyle, Danny Thompson on bass, and James Mackintosh.
